I'll be honest. Right now, it's very, very difficult to give a shit about any wrestling that doesn't involve either Kevin Owens or Lucha Underground. There wasn't even a New Japan on my DVR this week, so it just boils down to a single, hour-long match on LU, and a bunch of WWE bullshit.
LUCHA UNDERGROUND
...Prince Puma. Johnny Mundo. Iron Man. ALL NIGHT LONG.
Another rough week for WWE content. The pre-Money-In-The-Bank slump continues, and I can only imagine what the five weeks between MitB and Battleground is going to be like. And in seven weeks, I won't even have Lucha Underground and may need to go back to watching Ring of Honor, the Sweet and Low of hour-long weekly low budget wrestling shows.
LUCHA UNDERGROUND
Hey, another week between major events! Another week before Money in the Bank, at least. Raw continues to be on a slump, making some very odd choices, but there's no surprise what show ended up on top yet again.
LUCHA UNDERGROUND
I didn't have time to watch New Japan Pro Wrestling World over the weekend, so I'll have to double up on that this week. Last week was the fallout from NXT Takeover, the buildup to WWE Elimination Chamber, and another episode proving that Lucha Underground is the one hour a week that matters.
LUCHA UNDERGROUND
About the only upside to have been fighting a cold for the past week is that it left me a lot of time to watch wrestling. And there was a lot of wrestling this week, with a WWE pay per view, a double-length NXT, and the return of New Japan Pro Wrestling World on AXS TV. But with all that, WWE just barely ekes out the top spot with...
WWE NXT TAKEOVER: UNSTOPPABLE:
The WWE needs to learn that the solution to any perceived problem it has is not "more wrestling". There was another six hours of WWE wrestling on TV this week, and that's not counting the two hours I don't watch. So why are we getting a rush-job WWE Network exclusive Elimination Chamber in three weeks? It's not helping. Which is why we're totally starting this week's WWW with
LUCHA UNDERGROUND
One thing that's important to remember when considering the WWW is that my decisions are somewhat arbitrary and capricious, and the criteria can vary from week to week. Which is why this week I'm starting off with
WWE MONDAY NIGHT RAW
So, what happens when there's an extra four hours of pro wrestling in a week? A jumbo-sized edition of Weekly Wrasslin' Wroundup. Our winner this week is not a surprise.
LUCHA UNDERGROUND
This week's Wrasslin' Wroundup asks the question: why aren't you watching Lucha Underground? Do you not have El Rey? Do you despise pro wrestling? Or are you just incapable of feeling joy in your heart. Because...
LUCHA UNDERGROUND
A shocking swerve in this Weekly Wrasslin' Wroundup, with an underdog pulling off a surprise... well, "victory" isn't the right word, but still, a shocking upset.
