Weekly Wrasslin' Wroundup (Nov 2-4)

Oof. Survivor Series is right around the corner, and things became a mess very quickly. Le's get to it.

Main Roster

Stuff happened this week, but a lot of it became very irrelevant very quickly after Seth Rollins landed badly wrestling Kane in Ireland and tore every single thing you can tear in a human knee and possibly some things nobody's ever torn before. He'll be out 6-9 months, stripped of the title, and Survivor Series is being turned into a tournament to crown a new champion, most likely Rollins' original opponent, Roman Reigns.

Reigns is at the point now where I think most people will accept him as champion, unlike when he won the Rumble last year and crowds turned on him. But beating Rollins would have been a really good way to put the belt on him, and if they're going to do it in a tournament, they'd better set him up against someone the crowd's not going to like better. So not Owens or Ziggler. A Del Rio or a Sheamus would be ideal, even if the matches wouldn't be great.

Still no real sign of who Owens might be facing for the IC title, who New Day might be facing for the Tag Titles, but it looks like Del Rio and the returning Jack Swagger are going to fight over the dipshit Mex-America gimmick. And there's no way Swagger's winning that. But all of this is contingent on any other title matches happening with the tournament and the as-yet-unannounced Survivor Series match with the Wyatts against we don't know yet.

In some ways, it's good that the matches haven't been set up yet, since they have to change everything anyway. But they don't have a lot of time to set up new stuff and build it properly. Four shows, and Smackdown usually doesn't count.

NXT

This week was all about Samoa Joe turning on Finn Balor to set up the next two major feuds going forward. First, Baron Corbin interrupted and ended Apollo Crews' title shot, so they'll have a score to settle around the time of the next Takeover.

Then Joe rescued Balor from Corbin, only to beat him up himself. Might as well turn Joe heel, he seems to be happy being the younger, more competent Rhyno and hang around in NXT.

Asuka will be wrestling Emma soon, and this week, the Vaudevillains defend against Wilder and Dawson, which should be a solid match.
