At Midnight Power Rankings: Mar 23-26

Interesting week on @midnight - Wednesday brought us the winner of the #PointsMe challenge, which turned out to be a bit of a ringer - comedian and frequent Doug Loves Movies guest Chris Cubas won the prize and got to have his previous accomplishments seriously underplayed to make him seem less established than he is. But that's better than having someone win who can't perform. Anyway, here are last week's Power Rankings"

1. Steve Agee (W)
2. Rhys Darby (M)
3. Kyle Kinane (M)
4. Chris Cubas (W)
5. Tom Lennon (W)
6. Fortune Feimster (T)
7. Moshe Kasher (T)
8. Ben Gleib (T)
9. Vanessa Ramos (M)
10. Natasha Leggero (Th)
11. Jeff Ross (Th)
12. Sarah Tiana (Th)

Cubas performed admirably on a hell of a show, which featured one of the best Sweet Emoji rounds ever and a standout performance from Steve Agee, who JUST managed out another awesome appearance from Rhys Darby. I would watch @midnight if every show it was just Rhys Darby and two clones of Rhys Darby, so Agee really pulled off a hell of a feat this week.

I'm also going to start ranking the shows, which pretty much correlates to the rankings, but still.

1. Wednesday
2. Monday
3. Tuesday
4. Thursday

Really, Thursday's show is the only skippable one of the week. It's there to promote the Justin Bieber Roast, and so there are a lot of mediocre roasty jokes shoehorned into the format, to the extent of one chunk where Hardwick just lets everyone tell a joke that didn't make the roast. Not even as a game. I like Natasha Leggero a lot, but this was not her night to shine.

Cut and paste

A couple paragraphs at the end are from a previous ranking.

I also thought Thursday was kind of a turd, which is disappointing when it's an Extended Thursday edition.

thursday @Midnights

It seems to me that either you pick the funniest episode of the week, regardless of the day, and make that the uncut one, or you at least pick between Wed and Thu (which I believe they tape the same day) and use the funnier one on Thursday.

I suppose it saves me a lot of rewatching and downloading.
