Forkbastard is going through The Change.

Clearly, after months of not writing about food mostly because I didn't have much new to say about food, it was time to do something with Forkbastard. I thought about scuttling it and archiving it, but didn't actually get around to it.

Then I turned 46. Officially started pushing 50. Left the 18-45 demo. And realizied that I am an OLD NERD.

Old nerds are nerds, but they're also old. Case in point. Got me a spiff ew Amazon FireTV so that I could stream media to the bedroom because my Logitech Revue crashed a lot and the Sony streaming box I got a year or so ago did weird things to my network and fucked up PS4 Remote Play. Why? Who knows. Old nerds replace half-broken shit with better, less-broken shit when they can because troubleshooting is a young man's game.

Anyway, I use ViMu, formerly GTVBox, for my DLNA streaming on Android set-top boxes. I paid like four bucks for it in the Google Play store. So I own the program. But the Fire TV, being Amazon first and Android second, doesn't have that purchase on file. My options? Sideload the program, sideload the Play Store, or pay two bucks to Amazon and re-buy the program.

I spent the two bucks, because sideloading is a young man's game. I've done the work. I had a hacked-to-fuck Wii for years, I messed with an Ouya for a while. The hassle no longer adds to my cred, it just subtracts from my free time. OLD NERD.

So this takes the food nerd part of Forkbastard, (and let's face it, food nerd is an old nerd thing too) and expands on it to include old nerd pop culture, old nerd tech, and old nerd media. In my voice, which some of you seem to like, because I bet a bunch of you are old nerds too.

You're singing my tune, brother.

Even though I'm far, far, far younger than you.
